Ross Green, Baritone

Ross is from Plainwell, Michigan.

At Hope he was a student of Linda Dykstra. In the spring of 2010, he sang Frank Maurrant in the Opera Workshop production of Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, a role he will repeat in November in a joint Theatre Department/Music Department production in DeWitt Theatre in Holland.

In both 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, Ross was a first-place winner in the Michigan State Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions, as well as a first- and second-place winner in the NATS regional auditions. He was also a finalist in the Opera Grand Rapids Collegiate Opera Competition.

Ross has a special interest in French opera and French art songs. In 2010-2011, he hopes to continue his study in France and to broaden his on-stage opera experience. He plans to begin graduate school in 2011.
