Haley Hodges, Soprano

Haley is from Hart, Michigan.

While at Hope, she studied voice with Linda Dykstra. She received the Joyce M. Morrison Voice Scholarship, given annually to a promising sophomore or junior working toward a career in opera. She was a finalist in the Opera Grand Rapids Collegiate Competition. And she was active on stage, appearing as Silvia in the Hope Theater Department production of Shakespeare’s Two Gentlemen of Verona and as Diana Messerschmann in Anouilh’s Ring Around the Moon.

In the summer of 2012, Haley used the money from the “Sakiko Kanamori Prize” for advanced training in acting and voice, before returning to Hope for her senior year.

In the fall of 2014, she began graduate study at the Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia. She studies voice there with Dr. Medea Nahmoradze Ruhadze. In April 2015, she will appear as Rosalinde in the Shenandoah University production of Strauss' Die Fledermaus.
